The firm advises on most aspects of international trust work. We have experience in advising on the establishment of a variety of trust structures including Cayman STAR trusts in connection with international tax planning.
We act for a number of leading international trust companies advising them on trusteeship and regulatory and administrative trust matters, including drafting related trust documents where necessary.
Our partners have also been instructed in relation to a number of high profile trust disputes, advising trustees, beneficiaries, enforcers and protectors. One of our partners is a member of the local branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
The firm is able to assist with applications for Cayman Islands grants of probate, letters of administration and resealing of foreign grants, and to advise generally on the law relating to estates and their administration.
Nelson and Company is able to prepare wills disposing of Cayman Islands assets (such as shares in exempted companies) and/or creating Cayman Islands will trusts, and to advise on all aspects of testamentary and intestate succession in the jurisdiction.
